- Terodasu (テローダス) is the Japanese name of the Terodus
- Jinikuchisu (ジニクチス) is the Japanese name of the Zinichthys
- Due to their Katakana writing, the Japanese names of these fish are pronounced the same way as their English names
- Kefarasupi (ケファラスピ) is the Japanese name of the Cepalas
- It is pronounced "Cepalasupi"
- Kuradoserake (クラドセラケ) is the Japanese name of the Kuraselache
- It is pronounced "Cladoselache" just like in The Shinka Ron
- Pangea was an ancient continent in real life. Oddly the English version misspells it as "Pange".

- Again, we have the misspelled "Coast of Pange", which should be the "Coast of Pangea"
- In fact, this level uses the exact same title as the final level from world 1 in both the English and the Japanese version of the game
- The same spelling mistake is also found in the "Ocean of Pange" level, which should be the "Ocean of Pangea" or "Sea of Pangea"
- Ikuchiosutega (イクチオステガ) is the Japanese name of the Ikustega
- It is pronounced "Ichthyostega"
- "Yowaki" (よわき) means "bearish", which can translate as a variety of words, but in general means "clumsy" or "sad"
- Same with "Tsuyoki" (つよき), which can be translated as "strong" or "bullish"
- As the Ikustega in these levels are neither sad nor strong, calling them clumsy and bullish makes more sense
- Same with "Tsuyoki" (つよき), which can be translated as "strong" or "bullish"
- "Land of Boss Ikustega"'s English title is more direct on what the level is about, but it's not really a translation of the original version, which refers to the more story relevant elder met in the place after defeating the mini-boss Debustega
- Purotofasu (プロトファス) is the Japanese name of the Profasu
- It is pronounced "Protofasu"
- "Cloudy Land of the gentle Insects"'s Japanese title is a pun on the bees gently carrying the Ikustega children away. Where they are taken to, nobody knows. The pun is absent in the English version.
- It is likely, though, that the bees are carrying them to the King Bee's cave to feed the Ikustega children to their bee larva (aka their own children).
- In the original, Japanese version, the King Bee is called Hachi Kingu (ハチ キング), which translates as Bee King
